SAT Curriculum Licensing and Teacher Training
We have done on-site and off-site teacher training and seminars for high schools in Bridgton, Cape Elizabeth, Freeport, Messalonskee, Lewiston, Monmouth, Portland, Sanford, Skowhegan, and Topsham.
During our standard SAT teacher orientation, we demonstrate how to make best use of our proprietary TEN FOR TEN curriculum, which has been used for six years by Maine Prep master teacher Jessica Kaplan in her acclaimed free, in-school TestWise SAT prep course at South Portland High School. Jessica was recently inducted into the UNUM Educators Hall of Fame on the basis of her groundbreaking work in her TestWise classes.
In a recent year, TestWise students recorded a documented average score increase of 176 points.)
This past year, Maine Prep TEN FOR TEN curriculum was used by high schools in Lewiston, Monmouth, Sanford, and South Portland. Here is a sample that includes curricular pieces dealing with reading, math, writing, and the SAT essay.
2012 SAT training course in June. Although we will schedule training with teachers from individual schools, a less costly alternative is to take part in our 18-hour summer teacher training, which this year will be offered during June at our Brunswick offices.
